I visited Nepal for the first time in 2016 and was fascinated by the atmosphere. The majestic Himalayas, the flags fluttering in the blue sky, the beautiful flowers in bloom. The colorful prettiness of the rows of houses, the vehicles that fill the streets, the people who call out to me. The streets of Nepal were chaotic and exciting, and the people were very kind. The kindness of Nepal was a relaxing trip. What was impressive to me was that children are in high spirits, even though the scars from the major earthquake that hit the capital city of Kathmandu in April 2015 were still visible. I created a graphic with the theme of dreams and the Himalayas using photos I took in Asia, with the hope that the world would become a place where children in Nepal and other Asian countries would be able to dream and fulfill their dreams.

私は2016年に初めてネパールを訪れ、その雰囲気に魅了されました。雄大なヒマラヤ山脈と青空にひらめく旗、咲き誇る美しい草花。つらなる家々のカラフルな可愛らしさ、道を埋め尽くす乗り物、声をかけてくる人たち。ネパールの街は雑然として、刺激的で、人がとても優しかった。ネパールのあたたかさにほっとするような旅でした。印象的だったのは2015年4月に首都カトマンズで起こった大地震の爪痕がまだまだ残る中で、子供たちが元気いっぱいに過ごしていたこと。私はネパールやアジアの子どもたちがたくさんの夢を描き叶えていけるような世界になるようにという願いを込め、アジアで撮影した写真を使って夢とヒマラヤをテーマとしたグラフィックを作成しました。
